Seamless Editing
Seamless editing is when your eyes follow the action and we will be unable to notice the cut. This can also be called cutting on action by the action it is hiding the edit so therefore we do not notice it. It was found out by Griffith it makes you watch something without even noticing that it has been cut.
Here is an example of seamless editing. This is used as we are unable as an audience to not see that it is being cut. This technique has been referred to the invisible editing as we are unable to see that it has been cut. The use of this is so that the audience focus on the main story line and that they are not distracted by the cut. In this video you would start of with an establishing shot so it can set the scene and so that we are able to know where the characters are then you will go to a mid close up so that we are able to see the characters facials expression. It is using Kuleshov effect between the man and the woman at the beginning to show that their facial expressions are different but they are having the same conversation.
