The series that I am going to produce will involve alternative
techniques such as flashbacks and they may even include flash forwards so that
we are able to have a sense of escapism for the audience and so that the story
of the characters are properly told by using these techniques.
Due to the research that I have conducted I have noticed that
there is a higher increase of women that watch horror movies as they prefer
this then to watching action, this is also because they tend to like the build-up
and tension much more than men. However men can also enjoy horror movies due to
the fact there is a lot of violence, blood and gory scenes which is very
appealing to the males. The target audience for horror movies can usual range
between 18 years old to 36 years old.
On YouTube I have found out that thrillers have much more views
than horror films. Thrillers have much more views than horrors due to that fact
that horrors are much scarier than a thriller. In thrillers flash backs and
flash forwards are used much more frequently in thrillers. So therefore I have
chosen to do thriller. Horror films tend to have a linear narrative and to have
a non- linear narrative will create suspense and making it interesting.
Zara Jones and best friend. Her best friend is killed by her after
they have a big argument, and out of rage she picks up a knife and stabs her.
It comes to the funeral and she visits her grave as she was not found guilty of
the murder. Zara is being watched from a distance but doesn't know by who. The
shadow comes closer and closer and it becomes clearer that it is her friend.
The friend seeks revenge for her death so she is possessed by her friend. So
her friend lives in her body.
Production Requirements
Production Type The type of production that I will want to use is
a web- serial
this is because I want the story line to carry on and the genre
will be a thriller.
Crew and Personnel:
Camera Man- We will be using one camera operator as we are only
using one camera which means only one camera man.
Actress/ Actor – The people that will be acting in the program.
Editor – will be editing the footage that we collect after we have
finished filming.
Sound Check- To make sure that the sound is okay.
Makeup artist- So that the teenager will be made up with makeup
and if she is crying then the actress will need mascara so that it will have
more of an impact on the audience.
Hair stylist- So that the hair will remain the same throughout the
all of the footage.
Advertiser- To advertise the web- serial.
Publisher- To publish it on all types of social media so that the
target audience is informed.
Runner- I will also need a runner so that when the actors/actress
or the crew need something the runner will quickly go and get what they need.
The cost for the crew and personnel in a single camera production
would normally cost around £28,2531,77 due to the fact we do not have this kind
of money we will be using people from the college so that will be free of
charge and we will only have to spend money on their food.
Locations:
The location will be based around a grave yard as this is a horror
film and this is one of the scariest locations.
I will also base the location around a staircase but due to the fact this is a
one minute short horror film. There is no need for the to be more than one
location the reason as there would be too much different shots in one short
clip.
Time and scheduling:
It is very important to keep on schedule as if we do not hit the
deadline then the people that you were hired by you would be fired on the spot.
Then people start to lose money as they will have to spend extra money to buy
much more equipment to spend on their project. I will be mostly filming on the
weekends and on my free periods on my week days when I have free periods. I
will get the deadline from my teacher and if this work is incomplete then I
will be marked done for not running on time and hitting the deadline.
Finance:
Most low budget productions normally find funding from the local
council or they find other forms of funding. When the product is then disturbed
and sold then the money that they get from that they will pay with interest to
whomever they loaned it from. The school will not be funding the food that will
be distributed between the actors/actress and the crew so therefore this will
be coming out of my own budget. I will have to fund them with my own personal
savings. I also pay for the transport of the equipment. I will not have to pay
for the transport of the actors/ actress as they have free travel however in
this case I will be paying for peoples transport due to the fact busses can be
very unreliable and they may be late so then I will pay for their transport to
and from the location. Cameras normally range from £51.00 up to as much as
£1955.00 just for a single camera shoot which should be low budget as we are
only using one camera. For the sake of the webisode I will be using a camera
which will be lent to me by the college. The lights range from £60.64 to £200 I
will not be using specific lights other than the sun light and if the shoot is
not bright enough then I will have to light the scene by using the light in the
area. Microphones from £183.64 upwards so that when the actors/actress are
getting filmed we will be able to catch everything that they say and lay it
over the program so that when they speaks their lip movement is exactly the
same. I will also be using an editing suite so that when we have finished
filming we are able to move things into the correct places which would usually
cost £500 a day but I will be using the Mac’s in the college to edit the
footage.
Film rating:
If the BBFC was to regulate this, this could pass as 12 or a 12A however
this does not appeal much to a younger target audience. Simply because on YouTube
the target audience that watch short films are 18 years of age to 36.
Distribution:
Distributing my short film onto different platforms
and on to short film festivals. The film festivals that I would I will email
them my short film and if they would want to enter it or not. I would enter it
to the London film festival as it is the closet to my location and also so that
producer and other people will watch my short film and they may invest in it.
Places such as digital distribution I would post it on places such as YouTube
as that is a worldwide platform where many people are able to view it and also
sites such as Netflix.

Unit 2.2 proposal
ReplyDeleteNYA
Does not follow the section requested therefore does not meet the P criteria:
content (incomplete, what exactly happens, twist, hook etc); structure (you have not written an introduction); linguistic register (it is supposed to persuade to invest in a SHORT FILM); summary (not complete); index (no bibliography); presentation (wrong words used and layout does not use bullets); visuals (some)
This is confused and does not follow the structure for the proposal.
" The series..." In paragraph 1 - you are pitching a 1 min short film.
