Production Requirments

Production
The type of production that I will be producing is a web-serial that is based on a teen drama. The webisode that I will be doing is a web-serial the things that I will require in order for me to create the webisode are actors and actress. As the main character will be a young teenager girl about 16 years of age of any racial background, older people maybe in their mid 30’s to play the role of her parents and also other young teenagers that are the same age as her, these people will be her friendship group.

Finance
Most low budget productions normally find funding from the local council or they find other forms of funding. When the product is then disturbed and sold then the money that they get from that they will pay with interest to whomever they loaned it from. The school will not be funding the food that will be distributed between the actors/actress and the crew. I will have to fund them with my own personal savings. I also pay for the transport of the equipment. I will not have to pay for the transport of the actors/ actress as they have free travel. Cameras normally range from £51.00 up to as much as £1955.00 just for a single camera shoot which should be low budget as we are only using one camera. For the sake of the webisode I will be using a camera which will be lent to me by the college. The lights range from £60.64 to £200 I will not be using specific lights other then the sun light and if the shoot is not bright enough then I will have to light the scene by using the light in the area. Microphones from £183.64 upwards so that when the actors/actress are getting filmed we will be able to catch everything that they say and lay it over the program so that when they speaks their lip movement is exactly the same. I will also be using an editing suite so that when we have finished filming we are able to move things into the correct places which would usually cost £500 a day but I will be using the Mac’s in the college to edit the footage.

Time and scheduling:
It is very important to keep on schedule as if we do not hit the deadline then the people that you were hired by you would be fired on the spot. Then people start to lose money as they will have to spend extra money to buy much more equipment to spend on their project. I will be mostly filming on the weekends and on my free periods on my week days when I have free periods.I will get the deadline from my teacher and if this work is incomplete then I will be marked done for not running on time and hitting the deadline.

Crew and Personnel:
Camera Man- We will be using one camera operator as we are only using one camera which means only one camera man. Actress/ Actor – The people that will be acting in the program. Editor – will be editing the footage that we collect after we have finished filming. Sound Check- To make sure that the sound is okay.  Makeup artist- So that the teenager will be made up with make up and if she is crying then the actress will need mascara so that it will have more of an impact on the audience. Hair stylist- So that the hair will remain the same throughout the all of the footage . Advertiser- To advertise the web- serial. Publisher- To publish it on all types of social media so that the target audience is informed. Runner- I will also need a runner so that when the actors/actress or the crew need something the runner will quickly go and get what they need. The cost for the crew and personnel in a single camera production would normally cost around £28,2531,77 due to the fact we do not have this kind of money we will be using people from the college so that will be free of charge and we will only have to spend money on their food.

Contributors:
Normally when filming a single camera production we will have to cast actors/actress from agencies but seen as we do not have the money to cast people for the role I will ask people from the college that is used to being directed and told what to do so that the filming process will be easier for us.
Locations:
I will be looking for many different areas that will fit the webisode so that it will feel realistic to the audience as if it is them that are in that situation. My idea for the filming stages is to film a school where I will be able to film my main character surrounded in a comfortable environment for her with friends and for her to get away from her problems at home and I will also look for a rural area to film her and her with her family in quiet poor conditions so it shows a contrast between the happiness and the sadness of her at school and at home. Also if it is possible I would like to film a grave yard for her to walk through and to look at the grave as my main characters father had died so this would also be a location that I would like to film just to add more detail to the filming and will tell the characters story more. This will be possible as I could film on school site of a teenage girl with her friends which then means that there will be no distance for the filming, but for the grave yard and the flat that I would also like to film would require some traveling as the graveyard is located in Northumberland heath and the rural area in Erith.

Regulation:
I can not send this to the BBFC as this is not a film it is a webisode and it will be shown online so therefore I will have to use another regulatory body.

  1. Good effort some real detail here towards Merit

You need to add in the more significant crew roles such as Director, Sound tech, Director of photography etc.

The BBFC would not regulate your webisode as it is online

You need to cover facilities, Materials and legal such as insurance and health and safety

    Pass
